Duty free in Livigno: what's worth buying and where

Livigno has duty-free status: this means lower prices on several product categories compared to the rest of Italy and many neighbouring countries.

What genuinely costs less

The categories where savings are most noticeable are fuel, spirits, perfumes, tobacco and sports equipment (skis and snowboards in particular, given the concentration of specialist shops in the village).

Where to shop

The main street of the village concentrates most of the duty-free shops, with several perfumeries and electronics and sports equipment shops just minutes away on foot from the centre. Many shops stay open until late evening, handy after a day on the lifts.

Practical tips

It's worth planning your bigger purchases (ski equipment, electronics) early in your stay, to have time to compare shops, while food and perfumery purchases can be planned more leisurely towards the end of the holiday.
